The Shamrock Bay Rockettes: A Testament to Community Spirit

A group of about 30 ladies, known as the Shamrock Bay Rockettes, took the initiative to raise much of the donation with their heartfelt efforts. They organized various events, including bake sales and bingo games, to benefit Helping Hands. The Rockettes’ success in raising funds highlights the power of community spirit and cooperation at Shamrock Bay Resort, embodying the generous Great Blue Resorts spirit of generosity beautifully.

Marisa Rogucki, a member of the Shamrock Bay Rockettes, expressed their motivation and gratitude, saying, “We wanted to create a community atmosphere for the women and do events by women, for women. So, we did our bake sale, our chilli lunch, and our line dancing class, and people came out and donated. Many donated more than we asked for or told us to keep the change. They wanted to help Helping Hands.”

But the generosity didn’t stop there. Shamrock Bay Resort management and community members also contributed to the cause. Donations poured in from a donation jar and weekly bingo events, further increasing the total donation amount.

Beyond Monetary Support: Food Donations to Orillia’s Food Bank

In addition to the monetary contribution, the wonderful resort cottage owners of Shamrock Bay Resort also donated a whopping 256 lbs of non-perishable food items to the Sharing Place Food Bank of Orillia on October 23, 2023. Their donation. “We could not be more proud of our community than we are today,” said Ted Foster, General Manager of Shamrock Bay Resort. “This generous donation of food to those in need in our community will certainly go a long way.”

Great Blue Resorts, including Shamrock Bay Resort, continues to set an inspiring example of corporate social responsibility and community engagement. Their dedication to giving back serves as a testament to the positive impact that businesses can have when they prioritize their local communities and charitable causes. As we witness these acts of kindness and support, we can’t help but feel optimistic about the future of our communities and the positive change that is possible when we come together.
